Today I’m reviewing the McCormick Grill Mates Mesquite Marinade packets.  I wish I could create all my own seasonings and marinades, but I just don’t have time for that. Maybe someday.  This is a really good marinade and adds a lot of flavor.  We have used these for a while now and really like them.  They’re pretty cheap at the store and pack a lot of flavor!  Use them on pork chops, chicken, or whatever you want.  These work really well for seasoning grilled chicken breast to put on your salad too!

 The package says it’s enough to season two pounds per packet.  We rarely cook that much, so I’m only cooking a pound of chicken here.  Either way, it’s pretty easy.  Just mix the McCormick Grill Mates Mesquite Marinade packet with water and oil (we use olive oil), then add your meat. In this case, I made boneless chicken thighs.  I leave the skin on, but you can remove it if you want.

I just mix it all in a zip lock bag.  If possible, it’s nice to let the meat sit over night, but we’ve tossed meat in this minutes before grilling and it still turned out fine.  Also, you can just mix this in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

I used indirect grilling as usual and it took about 30 to 45 minutes to cook.  This marinade gave the chicken a nice, smoky flavor with a little spicy kick. It is one of our favorites.  They offer several other flavors.  I’ve tried many of them, but this is probably my favorite.  For the price and taste, these grill mates marinades really can’t be beat.  Try these out and let me know what you think on our Facebook page.  Now get to grilling!
