Quick and Easy Smoked Pork Chops

Looking to make easy BBQ pork chops?  If you want juicy pork chops and need that smoky flavor without spending all day, then this is one of the best ways to make quick and easy smoked pork chops.

Here’s how to set up the grill for smoking.  First, you’ll need to set up your grill for indirect cooking, but also add a pan of water in the bottom under where you’ll be putting the meat like you see here.

Once you have hot coals and your water set up, throw in a handful of wood chips.  I like smoking with apple chips.  They smell really nice and give good flavor, but you can use another wood like hickory, cherry, or mesquite depending on your preference.

Keep the top vent over the meat, but this time only open the vent half way.

You’ll probably have quite a bit of smoke at first.  Just because you don’t see smoke rolling out of the top of the grill doesn’t mean you’re not getting good smoke flavor.  Don’t add too many chips or you’ll get a bitter taste.

After the grill grate heats up a bit, place your meat.  You shouldn’t need to do anything for about thirty minutes.  I only seasoned these with salt and pepper since I’ll get good smoke flavor.  I also like to dip mine in BBQ sauce.

After about thirty minutes, you can turn your chops over and toss another handful of wood chips on the coals if you wish.  It’s probably not necessary, but I like to anyway.

About another 30 minutes later and you can take them off.  I check them with a meat thermometer for 160 degrees.

They will have nice smoke flavor without having to labor too much to get them that way.  This is a very easy way to get extra smoke flavor.

We keep things simple around our house, so canned vegetables and wine or beer rounds out the meal nicely. It also keeps the meal under $10 as well. Let me know what you think. Now get to grilling!
